Zimbabwe’s Munch & Sip Reinvents the Table with Launch of “The Pantry”

Zimbabwe’s leading food, drink and music festival platform, Munch & Sip, is stepping into a bold new era with the launch of Munch & Sip Pantry, its first structured large-scale culinary experience designed to completely reimagine how the country gathers around food, culture, and community.

Set to debut in Harare on 29 August 2026, followed by a special year-end edition in Bulawayo on 31 December 2026, The Pantry marks a major shift from standalone events into a fully curated culinary ecosystem that blends food, music, and lifestyle into one immersive experience.

Since its founding in 2018 by Mandipa Masuku, Munch & Sip has grown from an intimate social gathering into one of Zimbabwe’s most influential cultural platforms, delivering 28 editions, attracting over 88,000 attendees, and expanding across Harare, Bulawayo, Victoria Falls, and diaspora communities. What started as a vibe has evolved into a movement, and now it is becoming something even bigger.

The Pantry is built as a multi-sensory playground where food tells stories, music sets the mood, and culture moves through every corner. Guests will experience curated tasting tables, interactive food stations, live cooking demonstrations, and “show & tell” sessions where chefs don’t just serve food they explain it, live it, and connect it to heritage and identity. A buzzing vendor marketplace will bring together street food creators, gourmet chefs, and emerging food brands, while live performances from Zimbabwe’s top artists turn the space into a living, breathing festival. Add Paint & Sip experiences and cultural activations, and the result is something closer to a culinary universe than a traditional event.

With a controlled capacity of 2,000–3,000 people, The Pantry is intentionally designed to feel intimate but electric premium in experience, but still grounded in the raw energy Munch & Sip is known for.

More than a festival, The Pantry is also a shift into a creative economy model. It brings vendors, chefs, brands, and audiences into one ecosystem that generates real income opportunities while amplifying Zimbabwean food culture on a global stage. With 38% of its audience coming from the diaspora and digital reach crossing 500,000, the platform is increasingly positioning itself as a cultural export with serious scale.

Speaking on the launch, Mandipa Masuku said, “Munch & Sip Pantry is a celebration of Zimbabwe’s food culture in its fullest expression. We’re creating a space where people don’t just eat food, they experience its story from the ingredients to the hands that prepare it to the communities behind it.”

Harare’s edition leans into curated culinary depth, while Bulawayo brings the heat of live music and community energy, staying true to the brand’s roots. Together, they signal something clear: Zimbabwe is not just hosting events anymore it is building cultural experiences that travel, scale, and stay in memory long after the last plate is cleared.
