Zimbabwean music and culture are set to electrify Europe once again as Moto Moto Festival 2025 returns for its second edition at Odonien in Cologne, Germany. With a compelling fusion of tradition and contemporary expression, the festival continues to cement its place as one of the most exciting Pan-African showcases on the continent.
This year’s edition boasts an impressive lineup of Zimbabwean stars, including Mokoomba, internationally celebrated for their energetic fusion of Afrobeat and traditional rhythms; Feli Nandi, the soulful Afro-pop queen; Probeatz, the multi-talented beatboxer and rapper; and the genre-bending Wowrae. Also performing are rising star Mary Anibal, afro-fusion artist Mwenje Mathole, and Germany-based Zimbabwean rapper Awa Khiwe, known for her dynamic stage presence and powerful lyrics.
A notable highlight is the inclusion of Nisha Ts, a breakout talent recognized with second place in the 2025 National Arts Merit Awards (NAMA) for Outstanding Breakthrough Artist (Music). Nisha steps in to replace Chillmaster, the original NAMA winner, who was unable to travel due to unforeseen circumstances. Her travel is sponsored by the National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (NACZ), marking a growing collaboration between NAMA and the Moto Moto Festival.

Joining the Zimbabwean contingent are a diverse group of artists from Germany and the broader diaspora, including DJ C:Mone, Albix, DJ Blaze, Merciless Zim, and vocalist Munashe Lorraine. Their contributions promise to enrich the musical journey with Afro-diasporic sounds that span genres and generations.
Moto Moto Festival 2025 also introduces a new element—a Kids Zone, offering interactive workshops, art activities, games, and storytelling sessions to engage young audiences. The addition makes the festival a family-friendly space where African culture can be shared across all age groups.

Curated by cultural activist Plot Mhako, the festival is more than a concert—it’s a statement of identity and vision.
