With 15 books to her name, Vongai’s literary accomplishments are remarkable. Her works, including Is This Love, Road of Hearts, Saved by Grace, Choices We Make and Other Stories, Songs of Life, and her first German book, Wandelnde Leichen, resonate deeply with readers. These books, available on Amazon, showcase her ability to connect with a global audience while staying rooted in her Zimbabwean heritage.
In 2022, she proudly represented Trier at the Rheinland-Pfalz Poetry Championship, painting vivid pictures with her words. Her performances across Germany have cemented her reputation as a poet who speaks to the soul.”
Vongai’s creativity extends beyond writing. She is a passionate actress who collaborated with Frosch Kultur in Trier on the project Unser Haus. As a musician and dancer, her artistic versatility continues to shine. Additionally, she creates intricate beaded jewelry, conducting workshops for children and adults alike. Her creations are not just art but symbols of her cultural identity, available in shops in Trier and Pirmasens.
Vongai’s commitment to uplifting others is evident through her active involvement in various organizations. A former secretary of ZANA (Zimbabwe Academic and Non-Fiction Authors Association Bulawayo Chapter) and the Love Child Trust, she is also a founding member of the Moon-Rays of Hope Foundation. This foundation focuses on societal upliftment, with a special emphasis on empowering men and women in Zimbabwe.
She is also a member of Writers Space Africa, where she has led writing coalitions and collaborated with fellow authors. As a brand ambassador for Heart-Flames Distributors/Readers, Vongai champions the power of literature to inspire and transform lives.
On January 9, 2025, Vongai will perform at Trier’s first-ever Comedy Ladies Night, The Female Stand-Up Premiere, part of the new “Alles Comedy-Produktion am Pferdemarkt.” Hosted by Monica Bliss, a spoken word artist from Trier, the event promises an evening of laughter, wit, and poetry.”
Joining Vongai on stage are Marteroya from Cologne, known for her cheeky charm, and Larissa Magnus from Berlin, a quirky Comedy Central-featured newcomer. Together, these extraordinary women will break boundaries and conquer hearts, proving that humor is a universal language.
While pursuing a career in Social Assistance, Vongai dreams of becoming an Erzieherin (childcare professional). Her passion for creating meaningful connections and uplifting communities remains at the heart of everything she does.
