Zimbabwe’s leading celebration of urban culture, Shoko Festival, proudly marks its 15th anniversary with a bold theme, “The Legacy XV.” Scheduled for 25–27 September 2025 in Harare and Chitungwiza, the festival will spotlight a decade and a half of pushing creative boundaries, championing free expression, and elevating urban arts.

This milestone edition sees a powerful international collaboration with UK-based Arcadia and In Place of War, introducing the Build The Peace initiative. A mural co-created by Zimbabwean and UK artists was recently showcased at Glastonbury Festival 2025, and will next feature at Shoko’s Peace in the Hood in Chitungwiza — a celebration of unity through art.
“This project is a clarion call for peace in a world increasingly shaped by conflict. Art and culture must lead the way in sparking dialogue and healing,” said Vera Chisvo, Shoko Festival Coordinator.
Kicking off on 24 September, the Hub UnConference returns under the theme “Decolonize the Internet,” tackling pressing digital justice issues from AI bias to data governance.
This year’s performances promise to be electrifying. Comedy fans can expect fireworks with the homecoming of King Kandoro, while Bagga, Runna Rulez, Madedido, and chart-topper Jnr Spragga will set the stages alight with hip hop and Zim dancehall heat.
