Zimbabwean Afro-Fusion songstress Rutendo Jackie has officially dropped her highly anticipated 13-track album, Zindoga, at midnight on 18 February 2026 a release that doubles as a personal celebration, marking her birthday and a defining moment in her musical journey.

Rutendo Jackie’s Zindoga, which translates to “loner,” is more than just an album; it is a sonic exploration of solitude as sacred space for growth, identity, and artistic maturity. Years in the making, the project represents Rutendo Jackie settling fully into her essence as an artist, blending cultural heritage with a bold, contemporary sound.
The album boasts 13 tracks, 7 collaborating artists, 8 producers, and a vibrant ensemble of live musicians, creating a rich, textured soundscape that fuses Afro-Fusion with traditional Zimbabwean and folk influences. From Shona-led compositions to cross-continental collaborations including a Zulu track with a South African artist and a Swahili offering featuring an East African musician Zindoga signals Rutendo Jackie’s growing footprint across the African music scene.
Listeners are taken on a journey through love songs, inspirational anthems, and genre-blending grooves that traverse Shebeen-infused rhythms, Amapiano, and Afrobeat. At the heart of the album lies the traditional Shona homestead ensemble, featuring layered vocals and indigenous instrumentation that feel both ancestral and refreshingly contemporary.
A particularly poignant track is “Ka 2 Dhora”, drawn from the catalogue of her late father, Peter Ngoreta, a respected Zimbabwean musician. The song, never released during his lifetime, bridges generations and embodies Rutendo Jackie’s commitment to cultural continuity and musical storytelling.
