Harare-based Afro-gospel musician Patience Rumbidzai Musiyambiri Mandizha has released a new single titled Mirira Jehovah, a spiritually uplifting song encouraging listeners to remain faithful during difficult seasons of waiting and uncertainty.

Speaking in an interview with earGROUND Media, Mandizha said the inspiration behind the song came from observing how many people silently carry prayers and hope for breakthroughs in different areas of life.
“Mirira Jehovah was inspired by observing how many people today are carrying silent prayers and waiting for answers in different areas of life,” she said. “Whether it’s healing, breakthrough, restoration, or direction, many people are in seasons where they feel uncertain. The song was created to encourage them not to lose hope and to keep trusting in God’s timing.”
Mandizha explained that the message behind the song is universal and relatable to anyone who has experienced moments of waiting and questioning during their faith journey.
“The song was written for anyone who has ever experienced a waiting season. Almost everyone, at some point, asks questions like ‘When will things change?’ or ‘When will God answer?’ Mirira Jehovah speaks to those emotions and reminds people that waiting is part of faith,” she said.
The artist emphasized that the main message of the song is that waiting does not mean abandonment. Through the Afro-gospel sound, she wanted listeners to feel encouraged, hopeful, and spiritually uplifted despite life’s challenges.
“I wanted the sound to feel uplifting and hopeful. Even though the song talks about waiting, it was important that it also carried joy, comfort, and encouragement,” she said.
Mandizha also highlighted the importance of using the Shona language in the song, saying it added emotional depth and cultural warmth to the message.
The visuals accompanying the single focus on hope, reflection, and perseverance, portraying waiting as a meaningful journey of faith rather than emptiness.
Known for her work as a Vocal Director and lead singer with Zimpraise, Mandizha has also built a successful solo career with four albums, several singles, and live recordings, including Able God. She says the release of Mirira Jehovah marks another step in her mission to create Afro-gospel music that is modern, relatable, and spiritually inspiring.
