Harare, Zimbabwe – Nyimbo zaKwatu, a platform dedicated to showcasing music and creative expression, is broadening its impact with the launch of Women’s Denderedzwa, a new dialogue series aimed at fostering meaningful, solution-driven conversations among women in the creative sector.

The inaugural edition is set for May 13, 2026, at 08:30 AM at Alliance Française de Harare. It will bring together a diverse panel of women from across disciplines to explore the timely theme of women harnessing artificial intelligence (AI) in the creative industries, alongside reflections on identity, resilience, and success.
The discussion will examine legal, artistic, economic, and musical perspectives, highlighting how these intersect in shaping the experiences of female creatives. The initiative marks a shift for Nyimbo zaKwatu from showcasing artistic outputs to cultivating spaces for critical dialogue that can influence the future of the sector.
Founder Mary Anibal described the concept as rooted in the enduring tradition of women gathering in circles for shared reflection and empowerment.
“The vision of Women’s Denderedzwa is inspired by the timeless power of women gathering in a circle — a sacred and intentional space that has, across generations, held stories, wisdom, and collective strength,” she said. “In many cultures, the circle represents equality, continuity, and connection.”
She added that storytelling remains central to the platform’s purpose, positioning lived experiences as valuable knowledge capable of driving transformation and inspiring new ways of leading and creating.
The event will feature contributions from financial literacy expert Theodora Madzinga Chinembiri, women’s safety advocate Charlene Chiriseri, broadcaster Becky K, and creative director Tariro Chaniwa. Additional insights on AI in the creative sector will come from legal expert Vivian Matsa, visual artist Nothando Chiwanga, and creative economy practitioner Anesu Chikumba.
The dialogue will be moderated by creative consultant and voice artist Rutendo Denise Mutsamwira.
While centred on women’s experiences, Women’s Denderedzwa is open to all interested in inclusive, forward-thinking conversations around creativity and technology. Attendance is free, with registration required due to limited seating.
