NRTV Assets to Go Under Hammer Over US$278,000 Salary Debt

Vehicles, office furniture and broadcasting equipment belonging to Nkululeko Rusununguko Television (NRTV) are set to go under the hammer after the broadcaster allegedly failed to settle more than US$278,000 owed to 70 employees.

The sale-in-execution follows a prolonged labour dispute involving unpaid salaries accumulated between December 2024 and September 2025.

An arbitrator ruled in November 2025 that NRTV should pay the employees US$278,479.88 in outstanding wages. After the broadcaster reportedly failed to comply with the award, the workers approached the High Court for enforcement. The arbitral award was subsequently registered as a High Court order in June 2026, paving the way for the attachment and sale of the company’s movable property. The listed vehicles include a Nissan NV350, Mercedes-Benz C200, three Toyota Aqua vehicles, a Toyota minibus and another vehicle identified in the notice as a Toyota Legend.

Also listed are television sets, desktop computers, printers, a photocopier, desks, dozens of office chairs, sofas, refrigerators, a deep freezer, water dispensers, gas tanks, a gas stove and other office equipment.

A large yellow generator is scheduled to be auctioned in situ at NRTV’s premises at 29 Argyll Drive in Newlands, Harare, at 10am. The vehicles and remaining goods will be sold from 11am at KM Auctions, No. 1 Robert Mugabe Road in Eastlea. Prospective bidders are required to pay refundable deposits of US$1,000 for vehicles and US$500 for other goods, subject to compliance with the auction conditions. Payment must be made in cash at the conclusion of the sale.

The auction represents the latest stage in the employees’ efforts to recover salaries that remained unpaid for several months.
