National Arts Council of Zimbabwe Announces Napoleon Nyanhi as The New Director

The National Arts Council of Zimbabwe (NACZ) Board has just announced the appointment of Mr. Napoleon Nyanhi as its new Director. Mr. Nyanhi takes over from Mr. Nicholas Moyo, who transitioned to the role of Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Sport, Recreation, Arts, and Culture in October 2023.

Mr. Napoleon Nyanhi is a well-known figure in the arts and culture sector. Before joining NACZ, he was the Managing Director of Jacaranda Culture and Media Corporation (JCMC), where he also served as the Executive Director of the National Arts Merit Awards (NAMA) since 2019. Additionally, he was involved in producing Dreamstar Zimbabwe, one of the country’s most prominent talent search shows. Over the years, Mr. Nyanhi has held various influential roles within the media and arts community, including positions such as Production Manager at C Media Africa, Founding Station Manager of Capitalk FM, and Programming Manager at Star FM.

Mr. Nyanhi’s educational background is as impressive as his professional one. He holds degrees and certifications from esteemed institutions including Africa University, Clark Atlanta University, University of the Witwatersrand, University of Westminster, and most recently, a Master’s Degree in Strategic Management and Corporate Governance from Midlands State University.

Throughout his career, Mr. Nyanhi has demonstrated a profound understanding of the arts’ transformative power to inspire, educate, and unite communities. His commitment to fostering creativity, diversity, and sustainability within Zimbabwe’s cultural landscape is evident in his work.
