JoyRukanza’s passion for classical music, choral arrangements, and orchestras has been a lifelong dream, stemming from her days as captain of her high school choir, where she first envisioned performing alongside an orchestra. This dream took root during her college years when she performed Mozart’s Requiem with an orchestra. Since then, she has aspired to perform solo with an orchestra. The release of her debut album, MatterMoreForSis, presented the perfect opportunity to merge her love for classical music with her innovative RnB sound.
MatterMoreForSis is more than just an album; it is a narrative of a woman’s journey of transformation and self-discovery. The title intentionally echoes the scientific process of metamorphosis, symbolizing the protagonist’s evolution through stages of heartbreak, acceptance, and renewed love. This concept will be brought to life by an orchestra featuring musicians from across Zimbabwe and the all-female MatterMoreForSis Choir.
