PART 2: Introducing earGROUND AFRICA

earGROUND ear to ground

As earGROUND commemorates its six-year journey of amplifying creative voices from Zimbabwe and growing into the continent, the celebration is not just about the past accomplishments but also about charting a course for the future. From humble beginnings as a grassroots initiative to becoming a premier platform for African creativity, earGROUND’s evolution symbolizes the resilience, innovation, and boundless potential of the continent’s artistic community.

Looking to the present and future, earGROUND is poised to embark on a transformative trajectory, guided by a commitment to inclusivity, empowerment, and global connectivity.

“The vision for the upcoming years is bold and ambitious, reflecting a deep-seated belief in the power of African creativity to shape narratives, inspire change, and drive socio-economic development.”

What are we doing on the ground? #Zimbabwe – In the spirit of inclusivity, earGROUND is expanding its coverage to encompass more female creatives and remote communities within Zimbabwe. Recognizing the importance of diversity in storytelling, the platform seeks to shine a spotlight on voices that have historically been marginalized or overlooked, ensuring that African creativity is truly representative of its rich fabric of talent and narratives.

We are launching several programs aimed at empowering creatives with essential business management skills, equipping them with the tools and knowledge needed to thrive in an increasingly competitive industry. By fostering entrepreneurship and professional development, our platform is not only nurturing individual talents but also strengthening the resilience and sustainability of Africa’s creative ecosystem as a whole.

Looking beyond borders, earGROUND has set its sights on expanding into 10-15 more countries over the next four years, establishing a robust network that documents, empowers, and celebrates creative and cultural industries across the continent.

“Through projects like Gogoi Creative Agency we will work to facilitate access to global markets for African creatives, enabling them to leverage their talents for greater impact and recognition on the global stage.”

Central to this vision is the Amplifaya Creative Business Conference and Festival, a three-day event that serves as a nexus for emerging artists, industry stakeholders, and audiences alike. Amplifaya aims to propel African creatives to new heights of success while connecting them with global audiences and opportunities.

This one-day event celebrates the vibrancy of Zimbabwean art, music, and culture, while fostering cross-cultural exchange and collaboration on a global scale through exhibitions, performances, and workshops.

“As earGROUND Africa looks ahead to the next chapter of its journey, the commitment to amplifying creative voices remains unwavering.”

With a renewed focus on inclusivity, empowerment, and global connectivity, the platform is positioned to continue shaping the narrative of African creativity, inspiring audiences, and driving positive change both at home and abroad.
