Bhila’s journey to stardom began on the theatre stage, where he honed his storytelling skills and developed his passion for music. “I was inspired by my love for storytelling,” he reveals. “Back at varsity, I did a lot of theatre, so I felt I needed to tell more stories to a wider audience and obviously utilize this God-given talent.” It’s clear that Bhila’s theatre background has had a profound impact on his music – his songs are like mini-dramas, with intricate storylines and emotional depth.

Growing up in Nkayi and Bulawayo has given Bhila a unique perspective on life – a blend of rural and urban influences that’s reflected in his music. “I’ve got both appreciation of rural and urban life,” he explains.

“I think this makes my music special and lovable.” His rural roots and urban upbringing have influenced his music style and storytelling, making his sound relatable to both rural and urban communities. It’s a winning formula that’s propelled Bhila to the top of the Zimbabwean music scene.

Debut Album: Iphephandaba

Bhila’s debut album “Iphephandaba” is a reflection of his life experiences – a soulful collection of songs that touch on themes of love, death, and motivation. “The album represents a series of one’s day-to-day life,” he says. “You’ll realize there are songs to do with death, motivation, love.
