Harare, Zimbabwe — At just 28 years old, Prudence Fadzai Kaundo affectionately known as Prudence Faffy is carving out a powerful space in the modeling industry and redefining beauty standards, one bold step at a time. Born and raised in Zimbabwe, Prudence is a plus-size model, a make-up artist and an entreprenuer who’s using her voice and platform to challenge stereotypes, promote self-love, and inspire a new generation of women to embrace their bodies unapologetically.

Reflecting on what got her into modeling, Prudence admits it wasn’t always an obvious path.
“If you had asked me this during my early years, I would have probably given the typical answer,” she laughs. “But really, it was the passion to see women in their best version — and the need to be heard and break the stigma around plus-size bodies.”
By the age of 14, Prudence was already wearing a size 16 and size 7 shoes — a combination that set her apart and forced her to transition into womanhood early. “I had to figure out how to not feel less,” she recalls. That journey became the foundation of her modeling career and her growing influence as a body positivity advocate.
Despite her growing presence, Prudence has not been immune to the challenges that come with being a plus-size model. “There’s still so much to be done in terms of genuinely including plus-size women in the market — from sizing in clothing to representation in media,” she explains. She also points out the lingering societal biases that undermine modeling as a career:
“People still assume modeling is just a hobby or worse, some kind of shady business. It’s insane.”
The pressure to shrink herself — not just physically, but emotionally and socially — is a reality Prudence has battled.
“The idea that a woman has to change herself just to secure a relationship or avoid bruising a man’s ego is exhausting,” she says. “We’re still fighting the mindset that women exist solely as sexual objects.”
In response, Prudence has built a strong social media presence where she shares honest content about fashion, skincare, intimacy, and self-care. “I focus on showing and speaking about real bodies,” she says. “Rather than dwelling on problems, I’m building something positive — a space where women can see their worth, feel confident, and find community.”
Prudence has had a number of brand engagements and she is the face of Mambokadzi bath and body as a model.
And what about those who doubt or criticize? “Those that don’t understand now will join the party later,” she smiles.
Prudence has a powerful message for anyone struggling with body image:
“Your body plays a huge role in your existence. Don’t spend your life hating it. The most important and long-lasting relationship you’ll ever have is with yourself — so love yourself, genuinely.”
Through courage, candor, and charisma, Prudence Faffy is doing more than modeling clothes — she’s modeling confidence, courage, and a new vision of beauty that includes everyone.
