Feli Nandi to Headline MOTO MOTO Festival in Cologne, Germany

On July 20, 2024, the vibrant city of Köln, Germany, will be transformed by the sounds, sights, and flavors of Zimbabwe during the inaugural MOTO MOTO Festival at Odonien. Headlining this groundbreaking event is Zimbabwe’s rapidly rising Afro-fusion artist, Feli Nandi. Known for her dynamic performances and unique blend of traditional and contemporary sounds, Feli Nandi has become the most sought-after female artist in Zimbabwe. She will be joined by a talented German band and two renowned DJs, promising an unforgettable musical experience.

Feli Nandi, a singer, songwriter, and Afro-fusion musician from Harare, Zimbabwe, has been making waves in the music industry for nearly three years. Inspired by traditional music legends such as the late Oliver Mtukudzi, Thomas Mapfumo, and Chiwoniso Maraire, she began writing her own songs in secondary school and has continued to develop her distinctive style.”

The MOTO MOTO Festival, designed as a family-friendly celebration, will showcase the diverse and dynamic aspects of Zimbabwean culture. One of the festival’s main attractions will be an exhibition and sale of exquisite Zimbabwean stone sculptures presented by the Shona Gallery. These artworks, known for their intricate designs and profound symbolism, provide a glimpse into Zimbabwe’s rich artistic heritage.

For younger attendees, the festival will offer engaging Marimba and Mbira workshops, introducing children to traditional Zimbabwean music and allowing them to play these iconic instruments. Additionally, festival-goers will have the chance to savor traditional Zimbabwean cuisine, featuring dishes that reflect the country’s culinary heritage.

Moto Moto Festival is Supported by. the IFM e.V. | Free Music Initiative in Cologne, funded by the City of Cologne, Cultural Office and the Shona Art in Witten.

Attendees will also have the opportunity to purchase unique apparel from Feli Nandi’s clothing line, which blends contemporary fashion with traditional Zimbabwean aesthetics.”
