Leading the royal entourage is none other than the King of Township Jazz, the legendary Tanga Wekwa Sando. With guitar notes as sweet and juicy as mangoes and chords spiced with the crunch of paprika, his soulful voice and masterful string work promise a performance that will reign supreme.
By his side is the Queen of the Midnight Blues, Prudence Katomeni-Mbofana. Her voice is a glowing ember, crackling with the echoes of forgotten dreams and hidden sorrows. Her melodies, both tender and fierce, will sweep you into an emotional whirlwind you’ll never want to escape.
Adding a youthful flair to the royal affair is Taz, whose vibrant and playful jazz style bursts with energy. With a voice as melodic as a nightingale’s and moves as fluid as a galloping stallion, he’s set to bring an unforgettable charm to the evening.
Completing this royal court is the soulful Tariro Negitare, weaving tales of Syncopation City with her guitar. Her music will transport you to a world where the streets hum with jazz rhythms and the skies shimmer with melody.
Welcoming these distinguished guests are our very own jazz royalty: the King of the Southern Regions, Jeys Marabhini, and the radiant Thandi Bhala. King Jeys will showcase a homegrown jazz blend that’s raw, danceable, and utterly captivating, while Thandi will add a unique touch with her soulful fusion of jazz and afrosoul.
