What started as a Facebook post and #eartotheground, evolved into an award-winning multifaceted media entity with probably the best African arts news website in the world, nearly 1,000 articles published, a wealth of digital content across various platforms, an annual festival and creative business conference (AMPLIFAYA), a TV show, a groundbreaking mobile studio (the KOMBI STATION), stirring critical national creative conversations, 3 National Arts Merit Awards (NAMA) nominations, and so much more.

Six years ago, I embarked on a journey fueled by passion, driven by vision, and guided by a deep-seated belief in the transformative power of African creativity – Plot Mhako, founder.

earGROUND is now at the vanguard of Zimbabwean and African arts culture, dedicated to documenting and amplifying emerging and established luminaries. Through insightful storytelling, engaging content, and dynamic multimedia experiences, we are tirelessly providing a platform for African voices to be authentically heard and celebrated.
