Internationally renowned female acappella group Nobuntu will next week on Friday the 17th of February 2023 perform at Theatre in the Park, in Harare. They will be supported by Stango & Nongoma featuring Ramadu and Oktopus. Gates open at 6 PM while the show will be starting at 7 PM.

Rooftop Promotions producer Daves Guzha confirmed the development and said that the institution is ready to host their first concert in 2023. He encouraged the public to book their tickets in advance and added that full bar and catering services will be available at the venue. The band manager Dumisani Moyo said that his team is excited to perform in Harare next week.
Nobuntu exist since 2011 and have three albums in their name; ‘Thina’, ‘Ekhaya’ and ‘Obabes Bembube’ which are sung in Ndebele, Shona and Chewa. All the three albums were released through their Zimbabwean music record label called 10th District Music.

The group is made up of Thandeka Moyo (Soprano/1st Tenor), Zele Manhenga (Soprano/Alto), Joyline Sibanda (Alto/Tenor) and Duduzile Sibanda (Tenor/Baritone/Bass). Nobuntu have toured Europe performing in Germany, Austria and Slovakia. In 2022, the band had two shows in the United States of America and are preparing for another USA tour this year. They have done several shows locally mostly in Bulawayo. It was in 2015 when they were nominated for the Zimbabwe International Women Awards under the ‘Musician of the Year’ category. They are well known for their songs like Cula, Ilanga, Umusa, Asambeni among other hits. Ubuntu exists to promote and preserve ‘ubuntu’, a Nguni word which means humanity.
Stango & Nongoma is a musical duo from Bulawayo which started in 2012. In 2017, the duo released its debut album titled ‘Thatha’ which saw them touring Europe.

Theatre in the Park continues with more performances this year in music, theatre and dance. They will be releasing their calendar for the first quarter of the year shortly. The venue is set to host more theatre plays, musical concerts, workshops and more other activities.
