NAMA: Unlocking Dreams
The biggest art award show in the country takes place on the 25th of February and the National Arts Council is going all out to make the event extra special. Last year’s awards ceremony was lauded as one of the best-set events of the previous year. Basing on the preparations though the organisers seem to be determined to eclipse the previous edition and they seem to be on course to do just that.
The NAMA organisers have been giving us a glimpse of what the show will look like and well it is impressive. Mai TT, Holyten, Tocky Vybz, Feli Nandi and Mwenje Mathoe are some of the big names that have been announced as part of the NAMA lineup. The theme for this year’s awards is “Unlocking Dreams” and the organisers seem to be set to do just that based on the released lineup.
The Nominees
On Tuesday, February 7th Hope Masike will be announcing the nominees for this year’s NAMA awards. There has always been a lot of noise every year when it comes to nominations for what is the nation’s biggest award ceremony. This year though, Nicholas Moyo the Director of the National Arts Council took some time to explain the criteria used for selecting nominations. This should bring clarity to all stakeholders and also add another layer of credibility to the award ceremony as a whole.
Check out the Nominee announcement on the NAMA Facebook page on Tuesday 7th OF February 2023 at 1100 hours. Tickets for the show are already on sale at Medorange Pharmacies. You do not want to miss this!
