A bit of background on Burna Boy and Zimbabwe.

In 2015 Burna Boy made his first performance in Harare at Pabloz. Following the announcement of his show in Zim back then there were some doubts by some fans if he was coming or not. In response The African Giant responded and confirmed his show. He then indeed pitched up and gave an impressive performance at Pabloz club in Harare.

Burna Boy

Fast forward Burna Boy whose second show initially set for 2020 was affected by the Covid pandemic.

He was once said to have had a “beef” with South Africa based Zimbabwean music star Buffalo Souljah whom in 2015 he professed ignorance about.

In 2015 BURNA BOY had a song titled Single off the SPACESHIP album featuring WIZKID which was produced by Zimbabwean producers SIMBA TAGZ and VERSELES.

During his visit to Zimbabwe in 2015, Burna Boy told journalists that he had long since wanted to visit the country because it was one of the states whose heads of state (then Robert Mugabe) that he desired to meet.

Burna Boy is billed to perform in Harare on the 3rd of June at Belgravia sports club and the tickets are on sale.

Two days ago Burna Boy released his tour dates for this year and Zimbabwe is missing. This has created a panic on whether the artist will be coming or not given the hefty ticket prices.

We spoke to HIDDEN CULTURE the organisers of the Harare concert and they re-affirmed Burna Boy is indeed coming saying,

“Burna Boy is scheduled to perform at Primavera Festival on 10 June. The festival itself runs from 2 June to 12 June. The fact that a show or event is announced by us should be proof enough of it’s validity.” Hidden Culture

“An announcement of a show of this nature & size is not a knee-jerk reaction. It is a carefully planned strategy – the result of months of planning, physical meetings with the artist management & communication between multiple agencies.” Hidden Culture added

“Hidden Culture has been producing high quality events & since 2005 & not once have we failed to deliver on a promise.”
