ZIMBABWE Music Rights Association has announced posts for its new board that was elected at their last Annual General Meeting held in Harare a fortnight ago.

Albert Nyathi was re-elected as the chairperson of the board whilst First Farai got the Vice Chairperson post.
The new posts that were created include Director of Information and Publicity which was allocated to Mr Alexio Gwenzi, known as Goodchild (GC) in the music circles, a trained and qualified media expert who is set to graduate with a Master of Science in Journalism and Media Studies from the Midlands State University this year.
Rapper Mudiwa Hood, who is a banker and senior manager at Steward Bank, got the Secretary General position whose mandate as Director of Innovation and Strategy, will be to find ways of generating more revenue for the organisation.
The other Director, popular female gospel musician Janet Manyowa, a qualified chartered accountant, retained the treasurer post whilst Philip Chifumbu a prominent Afro fusion artist, was allocated the Events and Planning portfolio.
Deputy Minister of ICT, Postal and Courier Services, Hon D. Phuti, who was appointed to the Board by the Zimura council, will be responsible for Relationship Management and Liaison.

Mr W.P. Zhangazha continues with his role as the association’s Legal Advisor in the Board, whilst Mrs Polisile Ncube Chimhini, who is the Executive Director of Zimura remains as Ex Officio member of the Board, doubling up as the Board secretary.
These new positions were created in order to increase effectiveness of the board as the association seeks to transform itself.
