Zimbabwe’s biggest horse racing event, the Castle Tankard is back with a massive bang this Saturday the 7th of May 2022 after a two-year sabbatical owing to the Covid-19 pandemic. The racing extravaganza will see 13 horses taking to the tracks and three music heavyweights entertaining at the Borrowdale Race course.

The 58th edition of the Castle Tankard which started 62 years ago will witness the 13 horses battling it out over a two thousand meter distance for the USD$50 000 prize money.

There will be entertainment galore with the venue set to reverberate to the sounds of dancehall and Sungura through performances by dancehall president Winky D, Alick Macheso and Enzo Ishall. 

The trio of will perform at the Castle Tankard after party. Gates to the free show will open at 8 am and the show will run until 10 pm.

Event organisers, Delta Beverages, say they have included arguably the most sought-after trio in local entertainment circles, to make a mark on their Castle Lager brand.
