Hip hop artist Luminous in collaboration with Tha Cypha and Nomuhle today dropped a new single titled the Dreamer’s Journal. The hard hitting song coincides with Luminous’ birthday.

Born Tinashe Mtetwa, Luminous is a Hip Hop Artist from Bulawayo, whose mantra is Love God, Love People and do what you want in that order. Luminous has a background in Battle Rap and Spoken word.

Dreamer’s Journal is a collaborative effort that saw Luminous and his friend Tha Cypha get into the Studio with Producer/ Engineer Larynx. The beat was made by Larynx, Song recorded, mixed and mastered by Larynx. The lyrics of the chorus were written by Luminous and performed by Nomuhle who was getting into a recording studio for the very first time.

Dreamer’s Journal is a chronicle of Dreamers on a journey to attain their goals and live their dreams.

The rappers wrote the song through a lens of gratitude. Acknowledging and chronicling the hardships along the way but also celebrating the small wins that do add up. The instrumentation is a fusion of Jazz, soul, boom bap, and 808s. 

Maintaining the cinematic roll out plan, Luminous is set to release a poetic trailer for the song on Friday the day of release, with the official music video being released the following Monday. The video was shot in 4 locations, Mawabeni, Nketa 8, Nkulumane 5, and Bradfield.
