The new platform is said to help influencers earn from their social media networks and influence even before they reach the 1 million views/subscribers mark set by other digital platforms of choice.

“We aim to help social influencers exploit the valuable asset that they have, that is, access to markets, in a way that ensures that they monetize their brand equity. Social influencers already have what corporates want, a defined market and reach, which they access in an effective cost-effective way”

Rainbow Tourism Group Chief Executive Tendai Madziwanyika

“It’s no longer about How many assets you own but rather how much access you have and you both win.” Further explained Tendai before taking time to honour the E Entertainment people’s choice winner Tyra Chikosho aka Madamboss and awarded her a two nights holiday stay with her family in the Victoria Falls including activities and travel.

To date, they have successfully registered over 30 social influencers, including  comedians and musicians.

The team from Wadiwa Wepamoyo was there to share a testimony on how uploading their content on Gateway stream has increased their viewership and earnings. ‘Ever since we got on  Gateway Stream we managed to amase an average of 2000 views a week, that amounts to like 8000 views a month and we hope the numbers will keep growing. We get to sell directly to our consumers and that has increased our revenues. We managed to get 80% of the revenue we made and we are really happy with that.” Explained Kudakwashe Jani aka Yaya in the local show.

Speaking to the influencers at the launch event yesterday, the newly appointed General Manager for Gateway Stream Mr Taremeredzwa Chipepera outlined how the influencers are not limited to the products on the platform but have an opportunity to brand and sell their own memorabilia such as on the Gateway Stream platform.

“Instead of being just brand ambassadors for different companies, they can earn passive and perpetual income directly from their networks “

While the digital era has seen socialites being bigger brands than corporates, the challenge would be packaging their products for an exchange of value. Gateway Stream provides a mutually beneficial partnership that will drive traffic and sales volume on the platform.

After having some glitches over time, the platform is under continuous improvement to ensure a good experience for all.”

Developments of  a portal which will enable the social influencers to have backend access where they can load their own products, view transactions under their promo-code, track their commission and request pay-outs from their account are currently underway.
