Born with a disability in a family of 2 being the last born, Chipo Muchegwa’s story is an inspirational story that testifies that disability is by no way inability. Chipo was born with no arms and with short limps which rendered her to a lifetime bound to a wheelchair. She did her primary school at Jairos Jiri School and proceeded for her secondary education at Danhiko where she attained her Ordinary level and a course in Information and Technology.

Besides being her disability Chipo uses the toes of her short limbs to operate ordinary gadgets like computers, cellphones in the comfort of her wheelchair.
Self determination made her surpass many as she can play Mbira with her feet.
Having been inspired by her mother in the first 8 years of her life before her passing, Chipo’s love for music has been growing over the years. At the age of 26 she was encouraged to use her voice as her life asset. That gave her clarity of purpose in life and in the last 3 years she has invested all her energy to become one of the most powerful female musicians in Zimbabwe.
I dont want people to feel pity for me. I want them to appreciate my talent without focusing on my disability.

Besides her music, her vision is to travel around the world with her motivational story that if she can be independent and create her own income given her condition, then no one should have an excuse.
It only takes purpose and clarity of vision.
Thank you so much for this story. It’s very inspiring.
I really admire this talented woman. May God give her long lasting life so that she can keep inspiring the hearts of other disabled people that the disability does not mean inability.
