PLAY AFRIKA TV recently announced a partnership with one of the growing and creative media companies in Zimbabwe, INHOUSE MEDIA, who have over the years been creating content purposed for TV and other streaming platforms.
Play Afrika TV (PATV) is a Video On Demand (VOD) platform purposed for Web, TV/Smart Phone Apps. With PATV, who are developing the AFRICAN inspired content hub where emerging creatives get the chance to showcase their skills, network, inspire and have a shot at developing a well-managed monetizing and distribution strategy.
This new partnership with INHOUSE will see the development of the first Play Afrika TV Original, 15- part Episode Web Series, CHISARA (Created and written by Timothy Mukandatsama under Mukandatsama Films).
The series is scheduled to start production by June 27th with Zambezi Motion Pictures as Co-executive Producers.
In an interview with Canada based PLAY AFRIKA TV founder Nico Abote he said, “The story revolves around how a Zimbabwean family deals with the death of a family member in the time of the pandemic. How they have to adjust to grieving for their family member without being present. Set at the intersection of the modern fantasy land and the re-imagined past, it explores a world in which every human appetite for power, can be indulged meanwhile trying to lay a family member to rest. “
Casting is already in progress, and we are excited to see a new crop of actors that will be supported by well-established faces within the Zimbabwe TV/Film scene.
