Bloodlyne and Gemma Griffiths collaborate on a sweet jam

You will remember him as Jonah Sithole who shot to prominence in 2006 as the inaugural winner of the CBZ A Academy music talent search. The Indonesia based R&B vocalist Jonah who now uses the stage name Bloodlyne (a name he says speaks to the need to connect to your lineage and appreciate one’s heritage) keeps making some great global inroads.

With several star studded international collaborations to his discography, Bloodlyne recently collaborated with fast rising singing sensation Gemma Griffiths on a track titled Number 1.

Number 1 is a fun feel good Afrobeat, RnB Dub, vibe written by Bloodlyne, sung by Gemma Griffiths and produced by Sean Cook.

With the ongoing Covid epidemic Bloodlyne felt it was a great edition to add a little joy, sunshine and hope for couples, especially those separated by new travelling restrictions and forced into long distance relationships.

Gemma Griffiths is undeniably a household name in Zimbabwe and the year 2020 has been sounding great for her. Her rapid growth to stardom has seen her become one of Zimbabwe’s most popular artists. She is currently making waves with her album Pamwe and several collabos.

Bloodlyne opened up on the reason why he decided to do a duet with Gemma.

I felt Gemma was a great match for this song as she always brings a refreshing touch with her vocal prowess and soulful texture in her music.”

The two Zimbabwe natives truly blend well together in this new single showcasing the diversity Zimbabwe has to offer artistically. If there is one thing we can take from this song is that it’s truly a breath of fresh air you want have as a staple aura of positive energy in your playlist

In the song the two engage in an intimate lyrical interaction laced with some beautiful pop sound. Having both of them on one song was a sure recipe for a great jam.

Earlier this year i had an interview with Bloodlyne. Here is the video.
