Blessing Annatoria Chitapa on Saturday made it through the Semi-Finals of The VOICE UK 2020 beating five other contestants to secure a spot in the grand finale with three other participants.

The winner of The Voice 2020 will get a record deal with Polydor Records alongside the release of their debut single. In the past they would receive a £100,000 prize.

She is no doubt the favourite to win this years’ competition.

The Black Country student Chitapa impressed Olly Murs with her rendition of Etta James’ I’d Rather Go Blind during her blind audition on The Voice UK early this year in February.

The 18-year-old’s parents Cleopas and Sarita Chitapa are pastors at the Cornerstone Fellowship International Church in West Bromwich, UK.

The coaches for 2020 series are: Will.i.amSir Tom JonesOlly Murs and Megan Trainor. Blessing is Team Olly Murs who is a singer, songwriter, composer, dancer, television presenter, voice actor, and director. Olly first rose to fame for coming second in the sixth series of The X Factor in 2009.

Last Saturday saw 9 remaining contestants battling out for the top four spots in the grand finale set for this weekend.

A win for Blessing could put her native home country Zimbabwe on the global map.

Meanwhile in Germany Finton Mumbure from Mutare made an impressive appearance in The Voice Germany 2020 making it through the blind auditions.
