Since then, the partnership saw the first season of MTV Shuga Down South being screened in Universities and Ster Kinekor Cinemas across Zimbabwe. The second season screenings resulted in Actors Ayanda Makayi and Mamarumo Marokane who both play, Sol & Dineo, coming down to Zimbabwe and touring Bulawayo and Harare this March 2020. The screenings also involved some of Zimbabwe’s top artists such as TiGonzi, Mawiza, Super Geeks, Novuyo Seagirl, Hillzy, Fish F Ndaramu, Gibson x Pronto and Thandi Bhala.

This years screenings at NUST and the University of Zimbabwe, were extremely well received, with a lot of engagement from students, especially on Sexual Reproductive Health, HIV, Teenage pregnances, drugs and child abuse in our communities. It was important to hear youths share these stories and also it is vital for us to find solutions to such issues“- expressed Gilmore Tee, the MTV Shuga Licensee.

The screening on ZBC TV is brought to you by Gilmore Tee, MTV Shuga and Paper Bag Africa.
We are extremely excited to have ZBC TV screen the show every Saturday. We will start off from season 1 upto season 2 of MTV Shuga Down South, so as to allow the viewers to easily follow the storyline. We are all affected by HIV/AIDS, teenage pregnancy, drug abuse and Sexual Reproductive Health and we need to start openly having conversations. MTV Shuga, gives that platform to create conversations as it is an edutainment drama series. I hope the Zimbabwean viewers will enjoy the show and engage with us on social media platforms” – expressed Gilmore Tee
