Top Zimbabwean producer Mboks feautures on new Sauti Sol album

Kenya’s top selling international music group Sauti Sol recently dropped Midnight Train their fourth studio album. The Kenyan afro-pop band Sauti Sol are signed to the Universal Music Group (UMG), with whom they signed a record deal on 31 January 2020.

Midnight Train was Recorded in Nairobi (Kenya), Johannesburg (South Africa) and Los Angeles (California), the album was put together by some of the world’s best producers from American Grammy Award-winning Andre Harris, who has worked with various prominent artists including UsherMary J. Blige and Alicia Keys, as well as Congolese musician Kaysha and Zimbabwean Humpfrey Domboka known as Mboks who produced three tracks Brighter Days featuring Soweto Gospel Choir, Nenda Lote and Wake-Up featuring Mortimer.


The album carries 13-tracks and features internationally aclaimed artists such as India Arie, Soweto Gospel Choir, Sho Madjozi and Black Motion. It has been trending on number one on streaming platforms in Kenya and already doing well in the US.

Mboks On the Beat is an internationally sought after Zimbabwean artist and producer who has a long running catalogue of music projects he has been involved in, film scores and related productions. The former Prince Edward school Jazz Band Captain and 2012 music vice captain has in the past also released his own songs.

The Dar es salam based music producer, studio engineer and multi talented instrumentalist was at the age of fifteen voted best guitarist at the Jazz Winter Festival in Harare.

Locally he has worked with a number of renowned artists locally among them Jah Prayzah, Chengeto Brown and Sylent Nqo. 

A heavy weight in the blossoming music industry in East Africa.
