More tributes continue to pour in. Marshall Shonhai gives us a numerical perspective on the legend that Leonard Dembo is.

As we continue to celebrate this legend popularly know as Musoro weNyoka, did you know that Dembo died on April 9th 1996 and he was only 37 years old when he died?

Twenty-four years later his music has stood the test of time and is still relevant, this makes him one of the greatest musicians to ever emerge from this country. his music career was not that long, he formed his band Barura Express in the year1985 and recorded 15 albums over a space of 11 years.

That is legendary! at age 37 he had put together such an extensive discography. Let that sink, just 37 years of age and a decade long career! In challenged! what am I doing with my time?

His albums broke many record sells back when we still had a functional music industry that could track sells.

His albums are;

Amai Nevana Vavo(1984), Nhamo Moto (1986), Kuziva Mbuya Huudzwa (1987), Sharai (1987), Kukura Kwedu (1988), Ruva Rashe (1989), Kukura Hakutani (1990, which was a twelve-inch disc), Chitekete (1991), Tinokumbira Kurarama /Madhiri(1992), Mazano (1993), Kutinya Marimba(1993), Nzungu Ndamenya (1994), Pawpaw (1994), Shiri Yakangwara (1995) and Babamunini (1996).
