His signal has been busy since he entered showbiz a few years ago defying jamming, the musical gem has kept us buttered and nourished with scintillating music. Born Nicodemus Mutize, JahSignal grew up in Kuwadzana 3 where he also began his musical career. He is a Zimbabwean singer and songwriter, based in Harare who started off as a ZimDancehall artist but has developed a uniquely sounding music genre.

Earground caught up with the high flying musician in between flights on his return from UK.

Barely on a touchdown from a very successful Impala SAMA Festival in UK last week, the artist was already rushing for another major concert at the Harare International Conference Center (HICC) headlining one of Africa’s biggest artist Patoranking together with the iconic duo of Jah Prayzah and Winky D.

His manager Hillary Mutake couldn’t hide his excitement saying, “It was Jah Signal test and inauguration into the Zimbabwean Music top-flight performers’ circle. This tour put Jah Signal onto the industry heavyweight league. “

“Performing alongside his mentors and role models but Jah Signal managed to win the endorsement and acknowledgment of seasoned artists such as Winky D and Jah Prayzah. It was a learning experience but it was also a confirmation that Jah Signal is trending and being received well the diaspora.”

During the SAMA festival which was beamed on several social media platforms, the much-adored Signal was a magnet on stage, keeping many fans on their toes and chanting for more as they could not get enough of the Sweetie hitmaker.

Back in Harare the singer backed up by his backing vocalist Tatenda Ganje and a surprise appearance by Cordy the popular “white hwindi” literary killed it on stage!

Mutake added that ” Jah Signal’s secret lies in the power and solid working relationship between Jah Signal and his management, digital distributor and publishers. They are pushing the Swaah Family to a new horizon”.

They are in the process of putting together a touring team to bring more exciting live show delivery. From the recent UK tour. Jah Signal recruited UK based DJ’s and Entertainers DJ Tee Choks and DJ Chidzy to deliver an explosive Swaah Family experience.

Currently, Jah Signal is currently working on a singles collection for 2019 and promised more visuals, more energetic showcases. His second album will also be dropping at the end of the year.
